Meditation

There are many benefits of meditation. For those who want to meditate, here is the whole process in brief.
(There are many methods of meditation. Here I am discussing the method where
we try to concentrate on one object. This is also called as “one pointed vision”
I am choosing the breathing as the object of meditation.) |
1) Select a place that is comfortable for you. Choose such that there will
not be any disturbances around. Sit in that place either normally or with your
legs crossed. Clasp fingers of your hand. When you feel comfortable, close your
eyes. The back should be straight but not too stiff. 2) Once we settle down, we see different thoughts and scenes going on in our
mind. Casually observe them. Watch yourself as a silent witness. Slowly
concentrate on your breath. 3) Observe your breathing rhythm. Count your exhaling and inhaling process.
Concentrate only on your breath. When you get diverted, start the counting once
again. In the beginning, the mind will wander here and there. It is difficult to
even complete ten inhaling and exhaling steps. But slowly this number increases.
The concentration can be made better by saying aloud the numbers. Just be aware
of your breathing in and breathing out. For more info please refer the below sites
